Periskope Risk Register Feature

The Team

Tech Lead | 2x Front end developers | UX/UI Designer (Me!) | Dexus IT team

The Problem

The Client: Dexus

The current Risk Register feature is difficult to use, non responsive, has very little contrast and an overwhelming amount of information in one place.

My Role

  • To work with team and current infrastructure and find out ways to make the feature more user friendly and responsive

  • Work with and contribute to existing Design System

  • Run Design Audits

Design Guide

Periskope_StyleGuide_Page_01.png

Dexus have an existing brand guide, their current design system followed principles from Material.io .Colours for the application were drawn from the existing colour palette, massaged for accessibility and incorporated into the re-design.

Tools Used

  • Whiteboard discussions

  • Balsamiq

  • Adobe Photoshop

  • Adobe XD

Challenges

Working separately from the external IT team

  • Establishing virtual communication through slack and documentation helped ease the communication difficulties

Multiple moving parts and request, Development aligning with the existing UI style guide

  • Although this wasn’t completely resolved, linking back to the overarching goal and whether ideas lined up with the user’s needs, business needs and technical constraints helped ease the pressure of incoming requests.
